Welcome to SiMY

Giving Young People Space to Breathe and Room to Grow Since 1999

For over 25 years, SiMY has worked alongside young people and families in Townhead and the surrounding communities of Glasgow. Through outdoor activities, creativity and youth-led programmes, we support young people’s mental and physical wellbeing and help them shape positive futures for themselves and their communities.

Space to Breathe

Space to Breathe gives young people the time and headspace they need to rest and reset. Through nature, outdoor activities and creative engagement, we offer peaceful recuperation, adventurous experiences, and a chance to simply be.

This is where stress softens, confidence begins to return, and young people feel safe enough to reconnect, take part and enjoy themselves.

Room to Grow

Room to Grow builds on that foundation, supporting young people to reflect, create, learn and develop new skills.

This is where ideas turn into action, participation deepens into leadership, and young people begin making positive changes in their lives, families and communities.

At SiMY we are:

“I’ve made so many good memories and lots of new friends in only two weeks at SiMY.”

Who Are We?

SiMY works alongside 8–18-year-olds and their families. Together we break down barriers, open up opportunities and support young people to build confidence, pursue their aspirations and play an active role in shaping their own lives and local community.

About Us

Let’s Get Outside!

Nature runs through everything we do. From gardening and outdoor activities to creative workshops inspired by the changing seasons, our programme makes sure young people experience the real benefits of being outside.

Our Programme

Join Our Community!

SiMY always welcomes new participants. Whether you’d like to join our activities, volunteer your time or support us with a donation, there are lots of ways to get involved. As an independent charity that raises all of our own funding, every contribution makes a real difference. However you choose to support SiMY, we’d love to hear from you.

How We Are Funded

SiMY is an independent charity, which means we raise all the funding needed to run our programmes and keep our organisation going.

Our work is made possible thanks to the generous support of individual donors, community partners, businesses and charitable foundations.

If you would like to support our work, please consider making a donation.

We are grateful to the foundations and funders who support our work and help make everything we do possible.
